Low-speed concept

Many years ago, CLAAS was the first tractor manufacturer to introduce a low engine speed concept. Starting with the XERION series from Harsewinkel, the fuel-efficient low-speed concept was implemented in all CLAAS tractors with six-cylinder engines in 2017. This approach means low nominal engine speeds, maximum torque achieved at low engine speeds, 52 km/h transport speeds at only 1,500 rpm and an idling speed of 650 rpm. As a positive side effect, this results in noticeably lower noise levels both inside and outside the cab. Not only that: Thanks to powerful load sensing hydraulic pumps, high flow rates can be achieved at low engine speeds. This protects the environment and lowers costs.
